How To Deal With Adolescent Acne

1 Aug

Adolescent acne is referred to by many names, teen acne, acne adolescent, and hormonal acne to name just a few. Whatever you want to call it, it can be frustrating, painful, and embarrassing to a teen.

Living with acne over a prolonged period during your teen years can be emotionally devastating, after all this is the age where your appearance is most important. Teen acne is very hard on the ego, often resulting in teasing and razzing from peers. Some teens suffer from not only acne but sever depression.  But wait it doesn’t have to be!!

There are ways to deal with adolescent acne that will have your teen smiling and self confident in no time!  Once your teen learns to take good care of their skin, keeping it clean and as oil free as possible they’ll be on their way to clear skin.

Your teen can have his or her favorite junk food, no problem! Just encourage them to eat healthy and drink plenty of water to go with the fun food.  Help teen girls choose oil free cosmetics and teach them to lightly exfoliating once a week to encourage new cell regeneration.

There are also some terrific natural products such as tea tree oil or Echinacea.  All they need to do is wash their face twice a day with a mixture of these herbs to reduce the number of break outs. Both have anti-inflammatory and anti-septic qualities.

Let your teen know that acne is not the end of the world and that they are still beautiful and good looking.  Help build their ego and encourage them to be proactive.  Let them know they do not need to live with acne and that help is just around the corner.  They can have clear skin in no time!
